FOR FREE HANDS is perceived as part of the international jazz community living in Berlin. For some years now, a top-class line-up has been constituted; the rhythm section includes Echo Award winner Diego Piñera (UY) on the drums and Roberto Badoglio (I) on the bass, who studied in New York with Matthew Garrison.

FOR FREE HANDS  of the Jazz Studio Prize awarded by the Berlin Senate for Culture. Christian Erber NDR: ” … Europe is growing together and an ensemble from Berlin provides the soundtrack. Because “there is no freedom without mutual understanding”, the band quotes the French philosopher Albert Camus. Alaa Zouiten is another very interesting instrumentalist who represents the musical traditions of Morocco and modern oud sounds in equal measure. We have just been in the studio and together we have recorded our CD «The passing on of the fire” recorded. This will be produced by our record company LAIKA RECORDS released in the course of the year. In our current line-up, musicians from 5 nations play together – Berlin . Sofia . Rome . Montevideo . Rabat !
